PFC Ludogorets will post a series of interviews with former players and Fabio Espinho is the first to be interviewed. Espinho was part of the team between 2013 and 2015 and scored a total of seven goals. He is currently part of Feirense.
- Greetings from Razgrad, Fabio. Where are you now?
- I am with my family in Portugal. There is no football here and we are advised to stay home.
- Does your team get together for training?
- Every player trains at home individually. We are forced to do it and it is hard for everyone.
- What is the situation with COVID-19 in Portugal?
- There are many confirmed cases but it all seems to be under control. The airports are closed and people rarely move outside. We will overcome this tough situation. I miss football, just like every other player.
- What are the government measures against the pandemic?
- People are advised to reduce meetings with others and to go outside only when necessary.
- Tell us something about your current team?
- I am here for the first year. The season did not start great and the coach was replaced. We did better after that and we expect to show a good level in the last ten games.
- Why did you leave Boavista?
- This was a hard decision to make. I had a special connection with everyone there and the reasons why I left don’t matter.
- Do you follow Ludogorets’ development?
- I watch their matches whenever I have the chance to. I am happy that the team is evolving. Ludogorets can stand against the best European teams. I saw most of the players in Portugal back in 2017.
- Which is the most cherished Ludogorets-related memory for you?
- The game against Steaua in Sofia. I will never forget it. Moti was the hero and I scored once during the penalty kicks. It was a dream come true. We played against Liverpool and Real Madrid later. I remember all these games like they were yesterday.
- Will Ludogorets play in the Champions League again?
- I hope so. They could qualify for the third time, no doubt about it.
- All Ludogorets fans respect you. What do you want to say to them?
- I am happy they remember me and I am thankful for that. They showed their respect back in the day. I will be happy if they continue to support the team. It was an honor for me to be a part of the club. I will support Ludogorets whenever I get the chance to.
