Pavel Vrba: If we manage to score first, things will become very interesting fast

26 February 2020

The coach of Ludogorets Pavel Vrba gave an interview for the club website immediately after arriving in Italy. This is what the Czech professional said:

- Mr. Vrba, what are your expectations for the rematch?

- I expect a tough game, just like last time. We know that the overall score is not in our favor but I think that if we score first in tomorrow’s game, things will become very interesting fast.

- Will the rematch be different from the first game?

- Yes, it will be. We will play in front of empty stands, and Inter already has an advantage. I am not sure how the two goals they scored will affect the players. Their schedule was changed in the last minute – the game against Sampdoria was cancelled and they will meet Juventus on Sunday.

- Are you ready with the team composition?

- Anicet and Jorginho did not come with as. Everyone else is here and I will decide about the final team composition after the first practice session.

- How does the coronavirus commotion influence the players?

- I am not a specialist and my opinion does not count. I don’t think the Italians take the situation as serious as we in Bulgaria do.

- After the rematch, Ludogorets will visit Arda and Levski. Is the team looking forward to succeed?

- We know what we need to do after the rematch. Some players will definitely be tired but we can replace them. Maybe certain players will need to have a break but we have time to decide on that. We are used to this kind of pressure.

- What is your opinion about Ludogorets’ performance in the first three domestic championship games?

- I am pleased about the first game against Botev: we scored six goals and we performed great. The game against Etar disappointed me because we had a lot of missed situations. I hope that we will perform better during the next games. The club has a very high class and the conditions for both players and coaches are great.
