Ludogorets midfielder Jakub Piotrowski was chosen as the "Footballer of the Footballers" for the 2023/2024 season in the poll of the Association of Bulgarian Footballers (ABF). The poll was held for the 23rd year in a row, and all football players from the efbet League and Second League - Bulgarians and foreigners - voted in it. The poll consists of three main sections: Footballer's Player, Best Young Player and Best Coach.
Jakub Piotrowski was chosen as the undisputed #1 at "Footballer of all Footballers". The 26-year-old Pole overtook the scorer of Krumovgrad Alexander Kolev, who took second place, and the third position went to the captain of Botev (Plovdiv) Ivelin Popov.
Levski striker Marin Petkov was chosen as the best young footballer this year. He was preferred over Georgi Nikolov, who played for Hebar and Botev (Plovdiv), and CSKA-Sofia defender Hristiyan Petrov came third. It is curious that the defender of the Armies took the same position in this category in last year's edition of the poll.
The football players chose Cherno more coach Ilian Iliev as the best coach of the championship. Georgi Dermendzhiev, who won the title with Ludogorets, came second, while Botev (Plovdiv) coach Dushan Kerkez took third place.
The contestants of the Women's Football League have chosen the best player of the season for the ninth time in a row.
Number one among the ladies is Polina Rusina from NSA, followed by Nikoleta Boycheva (Lokomotiv Stara Zagora) and Ivet Vasileva (LP Supersport).
The winners of the poll will be awarded by the Association of Bulgarian Footballers at the beginning of the new season.
