Ludogorets introduced Pavel Vrba and his assistants, Zdenek Becka and Martin Tichacek during a press conference at the ‘Tsarsko Selo’ complex. There was a huge interest in the event. The Sports Administration director Georgi Karamandzhukov, the team captain Svetoslav Dyakov and the managing director Angel Petrichev were present.
‘I am pleased to greet everyone here, and I am surprised to see such a huge interest. I am facing a challenge with this post’, Vrba said. ‘I know the team and this is why I am here. I hope I don’t disappoint the management. Ludogorets has set the highest possible goals and the ambition everyone here has is what attracted me and my colleagues’, Vrba added. ‘The team has a strong presence on the European scene and the last six games I watched proved that they have a lot of potential. We only need time to develop that, and you will see what happens. The team is one of high class and we don’t need to build it from scratch, which is a plus. I am happy to work here and I want to continue the work done so far. We can trust each other. Every team wants new additions in order to be more competitive, but I will not be more specific for now’, the specialist said.
The Czech coach spoke about the upcoming games against Inter. ‘I believe we have our chances. The biggest obstacles are actually the teams from Sofia, because they will try to stop us. I thought that the Bulgarian championship is not on the level of the Czech one, but they are pretty much equal. Some of the stadiums here, however, need to be reconstructed. As for the players, we are currently looking for one defensive and one offensive player. There are team members whose contracts are close to expiring. Keseru has every reason to stay if a new agreement is reached’.
Vrba was asked to choose between Messi and Ronaldo if he could have one in his new team. ‘I would like to have them both here. What is more important is that every new player we attract should be able to actually help the team’, Vrba said.
