Ludogorets coach Rui Mota shared his thoughts ahead of the team's first Europa League playoff against Shkendija. The coach emphasized that his team needs to score more goals and that this has been the focus of their training throughout the week. However, he also noted that not everything can be solved instantly.
"Unfortunately, we can't count on Duah, Andersson, and Camara, but everyone else is ready. We've managed to analyze their matches. We played here last year with my staff. We know it’s very difficult. We hope to overcome the opponent," Mota explained. "On paper, we are the favorites, but we need to prove it on the pitch. They are just as motivated to show their best. We want to convert more of our chances, and that's what we've been working on over the past week. The boys are working hard. Nothing can happen with just a snap of the fingers," added the coach of the "Eagles."
"We can't just sit and complain about the many matches. Our job is to recover and be as prepared as possible. Shkendija is different from the teams we've faced so far. They have a different system and dynamics. Systems are part of the game. I don’t think a system alone can cause us trouble. The main thing is the dynamics," he added.
Ludogorets midfielder Deroy Duarte also spoke at the press conference ahead of today's match against Shkendija.
"They are champions of their country, which says a lot. They have quality and speed in attack. They are a dangerous team. It will be a tough match. Experience is important, but the most important thing is what we show on the pitch," said the midfielder.
"We’ve moved on and left the match against Ferencvaros in the past," added the Ludogorets player.
