Ludogorets qualified for the quarterfinals of the Bulgarian Cup after defeating 2:1 Tsarsko Selo.
The guest team took over after Tchibota created the first situation in the 13th minute but Ivanov saved. Tchibota tried to score again a few minutes later but he sent the ball above the crossbar. Manu passed the ball to Tchibota in the 33rd minute and the player scored. Nedyalkov was injured in the end of the first half. The referee Popov did not give Ludogorets the right to a penalty kick after a Tsarsko Selo player used his hand when Sotiriou kicked the ball.
The champions added a second goal in the last seconds of the first half. Sotiriou sent the ball to Moti and after a quick commotion between Anicet and Pedro, the ball was inside the gate.
Tsarsko Selo picked up the pace in the second half. Mertens tried to score but the ball flew above the crossbar. Mertens scored in the 59th minute shaping the final 2:1 score. Cordeiro passed the ball to Hristov in the 81st minute but Iliev saved thanks to his great reflexes. Tsarsko Selo added a second goal in the 86th minute when Luka scored but it was canceled due to an offside situation. Hristov was blocked by Grigore after that. Luka tried to score in the added time but he sent the ball just outside Iliev’s gate.
Wanderson returned after more than seven months of extensive rehabilitation due to a serious injury.
