Ludogorets defeated 2:1 Dynamo Kyiv a week after achieving the 2:2 match with Shakhtar Donetsk. Mirca Lucesku’s team is currently the leader in Ukraine.
Both teams created a goal situation in the first minutes of the match. The Ukrainians picked up their pace and Besedin created another one in the 19th minute but Renan saved. Seconds later, Shaparenko tried to pass to Besedin but Verdon intervened but unfortunately scored an own goal.
Ludogorets applied pressure on the competitor and Tekpetey almost scored in the 32nd minute. The gatekeeper made a mistake and passed the ball to Despodov who missed the empty gate. Keseru did the same five minutes later. Ludogorets made the score even in the 39th minute when Oliveira scored. Tekpetey fouled De Pegna at the end of the first half which caused a bit of commotion.
The second half began with a lot of player replacements. Despodov kicked the ball from a corner and Sa took advantage of that. He scored for 2:1, after which Keseru had the chance to add another goal but hit the woodwork.
The referees insisted there was an offside situation but there wasn’t. The Ukrainians were closed to scoring in the 80th minute but the woodwork saved Iliev. The projectors at the Mardan stadium malfunctioned in the last minutes of the match due to the pouring rain. The match was not canceled and Ludogorets took the win.
