Ludogorets lost their fourth trial game in Turkey. Crvena Zvezda won with a 1:0 score. Pavel Vrba decided to compile a team from the usual replacement players, except for Marcelinho. Nedyalkov was not present due to an illness.
Both teams had a good pace from the start of the game. Tchibota was fouled in the 10th minute but he could not pass to Bakalov. Cauly showed speed and skills. The ex-Paderborn player had the chance to play at a few different positions until now.
Iliev caught the ball after Degenek tried to score in the 17th minute. Crvena Zvezda scored in the 28th minute. Gobelic received the ball and sent it to Petrovic. Iliev kicked it back but Gobelich scored immediately.
Vrba decided to let Stoyanov, Ikoko, Moti, Tawatha and Anicet play during the halftime.
Tchibota kicked the ball from the foul point in the 53rd minute, but he hit the woodwork. Seconds later, Tchibota passed to Swierczok after that but the keeper saved.
Vrba sent Wanderson, Jorginho, Keseru and Dyakov on the field in the 61st minute. Biton joined them a few minutes later. The last 30 minutes of the game were the best for Ludogorets. Pavkov fouled Terziev in the 62nd minute and he tripped Moti just seconds after that. The Ludogorets defender tried to kick Pavkov while still on the ground, and the Crvena Zvezda player grabbed him by the throat. He received a yellow card for it.
Ludogorets was close to making the score even in the 77th minute after Wanderson and Keseru passed to each other a few times. Eventually Biton received the ball. He tried to score but Rodic cleared the ball out. Petrovic tried to score from a far distance in the 80th minute but Stoyanov was phenomenal in his save.
Terziev fouled Simic five minutes later. Pavkov performed the penalty kick but Stoyanov showed his class and saved the Serbian’s powerful shot.
