Ludogorets and Maribor achieved an even 2:2 score last night. This means that the champions have a total of two goals as a guest team which are enough for them to qualify for the group phase of the UEFA Europa League for the fourth time in their history.
The first situation occurred in front of Iliev’s gate after Nedyalkov was involved in foul play. Kronaveter tried to score from the foul point but he was not able to do so. Cicinho kicked the ball towards Maribor’s gate and Wanderson stole it in the 14th minute, but the keeper saved. Nobody could stop Marcelinho three minutes later when he scored with a long diagonal kick. The keeper Piric could do nothing to prevent the goal. Viler fouled Cicinho when he kicked him. Keseru scored from the penalty point, making the score 2:0.
Tavares entered the field in the 60th minute and changed the game pace. He was able to score only five minutes later by outplaying Moti and Forster. Maribor’s players decided to push harder and tried to achieve an even score. They were able to do it in the 72nd minute when Vankas direct free kick. Iliev was not able to react and the ball entered his gate, thus making the score 2:2.
