Ludogorets achieved an even 1:1 score in Iceland

26 July 2019

Ludogorets and Valur achieved an even 1:1 score. The rematch will be played in Razgrad next week. The hosts took the lead in the beginning of the game and Ludogorets scored in the added time. Ludogorets had a total domination throughout the game and missed a lot of chances to score.

Petry scored in the 11th minute. Ludogorets immediately tried to make the score even when Jorginho passed through the center and attempted a goal but he was off the target. Cicinho received a pass from Keseru after that, but the Brazilian’s attempt was diverted into a corner. Tchibota passed the ball to Goralski but a defender stopped the ball. Fifteen minutes later Jorginho went ahead and tried to pass to Tchibota, but Omarsson kicked the ball into a corner. Keseru was left alone in the penalty zone a few minutes later but he was not able to score. Jorginho continued with his good performance by attempting to score but the ball went near the woodwork. There was another chance for Ludogorets to even the score three minutes after that but Keseru sent the ball above the crossbar. Two yellow cards for Ludogorets followed between the 28th an 31st minute – they were given to Cicinho and Anicet. Forster made a good attempt to score in the 33rd minute but the keeper saved. Tchibota failed to take advantage of a good pass after that. He was able to outplay Jonsson just a second later but he could not send the ball towards Valur’s gate.

Ludogorets applied more and more pressure while Valur’s defense line gave their best to protect the gate. Keseru passed to Tchibota in the last minute of the first half, but the situation did not end with a goal.

Tchibota attempted a goal again as soon as the second half began. The keeper saved what was going to be a perfect goal. The Congo player received a pass in the 51st minute but Omarsson stopped him. However, the ball continued its path and Keseru took control over it, but the following kick was not accurate. Cicinho passed to Jorginho in the 60th minute who sent the ball really close to Valur’s gate. Stoev replaced Tchibota with Wanderson after that.

Wanderson was the one who almost scored in the 66th minute but the ball was diverted by a defender’s foot. Six minutes later Cicinho passed to Keseru who tried to score with his head, sending the ball just a few centimeters from the woodwork. The Romanian wanted to perform a corner kick but the referee decided the ball went out. Wanderson passed to Swierczok after that, and the Polish player tried to score, but the keeper saved. Keseru tried to score again after he received the ball from Cicinho but the ball went off the target. Wanderson passed to Keseru in the added time, but the Romanian was too late to react. Ludogorets was still able to even the score seconds after that. Wanderson passed to Anicet who scored with his head from a close distance
