Ludogorets’ summer training ended successfully. A day after the loss to Shakhtar, ‘the Eagles’ defeated 2:1 Botosani. The team reached the eight place in the Romanian championship last season.
The coach Stoev included many young players in the team composition – Yordanov, Yankov, Kerchev and Ribeiro. Goralski also played for the first time after recovering from his injury.
Swierczok made the first attempt to score by kicking the ball from 20 meters but the keeper saved. Kerchev passed to the Polish attacker after that but he sent the ball above the crossbar. Ludogorets created an excellent attack in the 26th minute. Lukoki was really fast and he ended up alone against the keeper. He tried to score instead of passing to Ribeiro and his attempt was blocked. Ludogorets was close to a goal in the 33rd minute. Lukoki kicked the ball from a corner and Terziev picked it up, but his attempt to score with his head was blocked by the keeper Pap in an amazing way.
Ludogorets scored in the 44th minute. Ribeiro passed to Swierczok in the penalty zone and he left no chances for Pap to save.
The game pace was slower during the second half. Botosani made the score even in the 63rd minute when the Ludogorets players did not line up good during a corner shot. Kerchev failed to kick the ball back and Miron scored. A minute after that Ludogorets took the lead again. Swierczok outplayed the Romanian captain and scored. Ludogorets’ keeper Iliev saved a powerful shot by Piftor after that. Kovachev had the chance to add a goal in the 83rd minute but he was not able to do it. Ribeiro showed his skills in the end by organizing an attack himself but the keeper saved his attempt to score. Dost also tried to add a goal but he was not accurate.
The game against Shakhtar was personally attended by the Ludogorets owners Kiril Domuschiev and Georgi Domuschiev.
Ludogorets is coming home tomorrow and they will immediately start training for the Supercup game against Lokomotiv (Plovdiv) which is scheduled for the 3rd of July.
