Ludogorets began their participation in the new championship with a win. The champions defeated 1:0 Etar after Wanderson scored in the 3rd minute.
Paulo Autuori’s players had total domination in the first half, but despite the efforts they did not score a second goal. Keseru was close to scoring twice. The first time he failed to perform a direct free kick in the best possible way, and later he missed despite being very close to the gate. Lukas Sasha also had a chance immediately before the half time, but he sent the ball out.
Ludogorets dominated the field again in the second half. Etar was relying mostly on counterattacks. Autuori decided to let Swierczok, Joao Paulo and Lukoki play. Ludogorets had a few more situations, but the keeper Ivanov was lucky. Etar had two opportunities to score in the end of the match after a couple of fouls in front of the penalty zone. Stoyanov was off the target the first time, and later Batrovic’s kick was no match for Renan.
