Ludogorets qualified for the group stage for the second time after a 2-2 draw in Plzen and s 4-2 win on aggregate. Michal Duris volleyed Plzen ahead from Milan Petrzela's corner in the 7th minute, but Virgil Misidjan levelled 10 minutes with a clinical finish following Jonathan Cafú's through ball.
Aleš Mateju headed the hosts in front in the 64th minute, but Ludogorets managed to hold the line and hit on the counter deep in injury time thanks to Claudiu Keserü perfect shot.
“We showed great character. We proved we are good European team. I want to congratulate the players for their performance. I am sure we will win points in the group stages”, said Dermendzhiev after the game.
