Ludogorets dropped their first two points of the season. The champions failed to beat Loko (Sofia) in a match full of chances. The game ended 0:0, with Rui Mota’s men left to regret the missed victory. Two shots off the woodwork in the second half – by Eric Bile and Eric Marcus – plus more missed opportunities in front of Martin Velichkov stopped the “Eagles” from keeping a perfect record in the league after five rounds.

Before the break, Ludogorets created several chances in front of Velichkov but could not beat him. In turn, the visitors squandered a golden opportunity. After a mistake by defender Nahmias, Spas Delev found himself one-on-one with Sergio Padt, but the Dutch goalkeeper reacted superbly and saved.

After halftime, the “Eagles” completely dominated, and only bad luck kept them from scoring. Ivaylo Chochev, Eric Bile, and Eric Marcus all missed chances, while several excellent wing attacks failed to end with good crosses.

Towards the end of the match, Brazilian striker Mateus Machado made his official debut for Ludogorets, but he was unable to make an impact, and the match finished 0:0.

On Thursday, the “Eagles” visit Shkëndija in Skopje for the first leg of the Europa League playoff.
