Ludogorets children up to the age of 12 made a splash during their participation in a prestigious tournament in Turkey. Their amazing achievement is not only reaching the final, in which they completely outplayed their rival from Istanbul Basaksehir, but also the local audience supported the Razgrad contenders. The three-day competition was held in Edirne.
10 teams, divided into two groups, competed at the strong tournament. In the first match against Basaksehir, the boys from Ludogorets drew 0-0. Before exiting their group, the little Eagles recorded wins with results of 13:1, 6:1 and again a zero draw against Genchorlu.
In the semi-final, Ludogorets played against Edirne Birlik Spor. The people of Razgrad completely outplayed their opponent, and Kristiyan Ginchev scored the only goal after a corner kick in the last minute of the match. A missed penalty and a bunch of other scoring situations deprived Ludogorets of a more expressive win.
The final clash between the two best performing teams in the tournament - Ludogorets and Basaksehir, ended with a final score of 3:0 in favor of the people of Razgrad. They earned the respect of the local audience, who applauded their beautiful and powerful playing. Thanks to their worthy performance, they prevailed over the strong opponent, in which children from all over Turkey play.
In addition to the team award, the players of Ludogorets also earned individual awards. Martin Savchev won the prize for the best player of the tournament. Daniel Dimitrov became the top scorer of the competition.
"I am extremely proud of the boys and the football they demonstrated, with which they won the sympathy of the local audience. I am also very proud of the fact that I am their coach", shared the excitement after the end of the tournament, the coach of Ludogorets U12 Svetlin Ivanov.
