Penalty kicks prevented Ludogorets from continuing in the European club tournaments. The Razgrad team lost 1:2 against Anderlecht on their visit to Lotto Park, but the 1:0 victory in Razgrad sent the match to extra time, followed by penalty kicks.

Franco Russo scored a goal in the 13th minute to give the hosts the lead, and Jari Varshaanen doubled Anderlecht's lead in the 68th. The home team's joy was short-lived, as in the 71st Igor Thiago cut in after an excellent pass from Despodov and leveled the score of the two games. So the rematch went into extra time, where the drama became even greater after Jakub Piotrowski was sent off in the first overtime and the Eagles had to go to penalty kicks with 10 men.

The native champion missed his first three performances, through Pipa, Dominik Yankov and Naressi with the home goalkeeper Verbruggen making three saves. They sent Anderlecht ahead in the tournament while Ludogorets are left to fight for the efbet League and the Bulgarian Cup.

Approx. 1 200 Bulgarian fans attendet the game at Lotto Park to support the Eagles in this match.
