The Ludogorets coach Stoycho Stoev was mildly optimistic before the game against Ferencvarosi, which is part of the first Champions League preliminary round.
‘Our main focus during the training camps was the game against the Hungarians’, said Stoev at the press conference. ‘There is always something more to strive for and we have no time for excuses. I hope we are prepared enough. The new recruits are not in their best shape which is perfectly normal. Jorginho is better than the others because he played in the African league recently. The new players will be an option to choose from. Nedyalkov trained alongside the others and he is in good condition. I hope he will be in top form during the game’, the coach added.
He commented on the other team’s class:
‘I will not concentrate on any particular Ferencvarosi player. It is a collective sport. I am familiar with their team composition and this helped us train better’, Stoev said.
Stoev was asked to compare Ferencvarosi to MOL Vidi.
‘Neither me, nor Iliev was part of the team when Ludogorets played against Vidi. I have seen the games and Ferencvarosi have a different style, because they want to control the ball, which means the fans will see some good football. Nobody in Europe knew anything about Ludogorets five years ago. We achieved some success and Ludogorets became a well-known name. These five years brought confidence to the team’, Stoev commented.
The coach believes in his team.
‘I don’t like to discuss percentages. Football is not math-related and every team has a chance. I hope we win. Every coach would like to achieve his goals. We would be happy with an even score, too. We came to play with honor’, Stoev concluded.
