Ludogorets defeated 2:0 Botev (Vratsa) in another game of the XXIV round of the First professional football league. It was the first win for the club this spring season and it allowed them to keep their five points in advance overall. This is important, because there is a game against Levski coming up. The game against Vratsa had two memorable moments – the official debut of Serkan Yusein and Stanislav Manolev.
The fans set up a huge Bulgarian flag prior to the game start, and they also had a vinyl with the Shipka monument on it. This is how the spectators paid tribute to the Bulgarian national holiday.
Marcelinho tried to score in the 5th minute from the direct free kick point. Ten minutes later Keseru almost scored after he received the ball from Popa. Tur passed to Ognyanov seconds later, but he missed the gate. Genov did the same thing five minutes later.
Manolev replaced the injured Cicinho in the 27th minute. Five minutes later Ludogorets scored. Yusein passed to Manolev who sent the ball to Marcelinho, Moti eventually received the ball and scored! Popa almost added a second goal after that but failed due to a ricochet. Ludogorets added the second goal six minutes after the first one. Marcelinho passed to Keseru and the Romanian player scored with his left foot from about 20 meters.
The second half began with a lot of pressure on Botev. Marcelinho passed to Keseru in the 55th minute and he tried to score but the keeper saved. The coach of Botev Sasho Angelov decided to get Budinov and Vusurovic out on the field. Domovchiyski almost scored in the 63rd minute but Iliev saved, sending the ball into a corner. Manolev passed to Swierczok who missed the gate after outplaying the keeper. Later Budinov tried to score in Iliev’s gate but missed the target.
Five minutes before the end Nedyalkov sent the ball with a powerful kick but the crossbar prevented a spectacular goal. Swierczok also missed in the added time.
