K. Domuschiev: I haven’t dreamed of this, we made a record in Europe

There is no such team in Europe – to go from 3rd to 2nd division, from 2nd to first, to reach the top and make a double. This is what Ludogorets’s owner Kiril Domuschiev said after the team won the championship of Bulgaria, having taken the Cup of Bulgaria a week earlier.

- What changes await Ludogorets this summer?
- Preparation, a little bit of selection, in order to make the team a lot stronger and put in a worthy appearance in Champions league.
- Are you ready to part with some of your key players?
- With key ones – no. We have quite a lot of offers, but we have no ambitions to sell. Naturally, anything’s possible, if a bombastic offer comes up. It would be hard to convince us to take some of our key players.
- Are there special prizes for the team?
- It was announced in advance for the Champions title. I am not discussing the amount, the boys know it. They deserved it.
- What is about to happen on the reconstruction of the Ludogorets Arena stadium?
- First, we will put the Training center into operation. There are some improvements that we have to make here with regards to Third category, given to us from UEFA. We will spend more time on this stadium’s project, because it’s a very serious investment – a big part of the tribunes will be removed, that won’t happen so quick.
- What tasks will you set for the team regarding the European tournaments?
- A worthy appearance of a Bulgarian team. Bulgaria has pretty low coefficients, we have to fight to win a maximum number of points and raise the image of Bulgarian football. It’s not our task only, but a task for the other teams too.
- What is the formula to success in times of crisis?
- A lot of well measured expenses, the right investments in the right people and the right implementations, spending the time and attention needed to make things work.
- Was the champagne good tonight?
- The best I’ve ever had in my life, and I’ve had quite a lot.
