Ludogorets’ medic received a prestigious award from UEFA

Dr. Valentin Velikov received the President award of UEFA for his participation in handling the incident with Kristijan Eriksen.

Dr. Valentin Velikov received the President award of UEFA for his participation in handling the incident with Kristijan Eriksen. He was part of the crew that reacted immediately when the player collapsed. Dr. Velikov’s colleagues – Jens Kleinefeld, Mogens Kroitzfeld, Frederik Flentsted, Anders Boesen, and Peder Ersgord were awarded as well. Simon Kjaer also received an award for his fast reaction and behavior after the incident.

UEFA’s President, Aleksander Ceferin, said that these people were the real heroes of Euro 2020 and he was honored to award them.

Dr. Velikov was mentioned in a special thank you letter by Eriksen himself. He was thankful for their life-saving reaction.
