Ludogorets beat Dinamo (Minsk) 2:0

24 July 2024

Ludogorets beat Dinamo Minsk 2:0 in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the Champions League. Thus, the Eagles took a big step towards eliminating the Belarusians, whom they visit in Hungary next week. If this happens, the Greens will at least guarantee themselves participation in the group stage of the Conference League. Otherwise, the dream of everyone in Razgrad is clear – a third participation in the main part of the Champions League.

Already in the 2nd minute, the guests made a big mistake, as after a cross from a corner, Alexey Gavrilovich was completely uncovered, but did not hit the goal.

However, Ludogorets responded quickly. In the 9th minute, the Eagles launched a counterattack, Tekpetey found Rick, he in turn passed to Piotrowski, and the Pole with a precise lead pass the ball to Tekpetey, who with a powerful shot left no chance to the goalkeeper of Dinamo Minsk - 1:0 ! Seven minutes later, the people of Razgrad made another good attack, with Lapukhov saving a strong shot by Von Witry, and in the extra time, Todor Nedelev was blocked by a defender.

In the 28th minute, Sergio Padt again showed that he is in great form by saving a dangerous shot on the ground by Pigas.

In the 44th minute, Ludogorets received a penalty. Nedelev and Chochev made a great double pass that brought the former Botev Plovdiv player alone against the goalkeeper. However, Politevich punched him in the face and knocked him to the ground. Nedelev stood behind the ball and sent the goalkeeper into the other corner - 2:0!

In the 47th minute, Ludogorets made a lightning counterattack, started by Rick, who found Tekpetey, and he immediately continued for Nedelev, who was unlucky this time and shot high over the goal. Ten minutes later, Belarusian goalkeeper Lapukhov showed a wonderful reflex after Piotrowski's shot ricocheted off the visitors' defender.

The second leg is next week in the Hungarian city of Mezőkövesd. If Ludogorets does not lose this match, they are going to the third qualifying round of the Champions League, where it will almost certainly meet the Azerbaijan champion Karabakh.
