The coach of Ludogorets Georgi Dermendzhiev does not want his players to fall into euphoria before the match with CSKA-Sofia. As is known, if the Eagles do not lose, they will become champions for the 13th time in a row and in theory.
"Until we do the work, we can't say anything in advance. We will wait for this match to be played. I think it will be a good match in front of a large crowd," Dermendzhiev began at the pre-match press conference. "I don't want to allow that to my team and I maintain that we have to be smart enough. Personally, I expect that the opponent will be extremely motivated to prove themselves, but we are ready for this," he said about CSKA-Sofia.
On the occasion of Ludogorets' fitness training, the experienced specialist said: "Yes, everyone is in very good condition and we are waiting for the match."
"Stamen is a good coach, but he has become coach recently. Maybe he will need time to get his idea in, but despite everything, I see a change," said Dermendzhiev about the head coach of the "armies" Stamen Belchev.
Regarding the tactics that Ludogorets will take for the derby with CSKA-Sofia, Dermendzhiev said: "Naturally, these are very big details that cannot be explained to such an audience. We have a certain style of play and we stick to it."
The experienced specialist was also asked about his personal streak of 12 games without a loss against CSKA. "Yes, it gives confidence, but every game is specific and we go for the win," he said.
Dermendzhiev commented on the fact that if Ludogorets wins the title, he will not be awarded tomorrow. "We have respect for the opponent. We haven't done our job at all, so we don't have any preparation for awards and celebrations," the Eagles coach concluded.
The captain of Ludogorets Anton Nedyalkov shared that the upcoming match against his former team CSKA will be more emotional and sweeter than other times.
"The mood in the team is very good. We are preparing for a very serious match. We still have a lot of work to do, we have two more very serious matches with CSKA and the Bulgarian Cup final with Botev Plovdiv. I think we are preparing in the best way and we are ready to show a good face for each match. Still, we are fighting to be champions," said the experienced defender.
"For us, in general, against every single team, our motivation is to be champions, regardless of whether it will be CSKA, Levski, Botev, Loko. It is always a motivation, there is always a desire to prove yourself, to show that you are the best team. Now, maybe, the match with CSKA will be a little different, a little more motivational and it will be a little sweeter than the other time," said Nedyalkov, who returned to the field after a long injury treatment.
