Ludogorets became the first Bulgarian team to defeat the Belgian giant Anderlecht - 1:0 in the first match of the Conference League playoffs. The second game is in a week in Brussels.

Ante Simundza's side started strongly with Thiago twice making the visitors' defense difficult but offside was stated for both occasions. In the 8th minute there was nothing to save Anderlecht. Kiril Despodov crossed wonderfully with his left foot to Thiago and he opened the score -1:0 with a header.

After half an hour of play, Verschaeren threatened the goal of Ludogorets, but the ball went out. This was followed by an excellent pass by Igor Thiago to Tekpetey, who did not hit the net. Anderlecht responded immediately, but Arnstad did not take advantage of the good position he had. The hosts responded through Tekpetey, who did not threaten Ferbruggen.
