The guest team congratulated the champions on their 11th title before the match. Botev’s coach selected players who have been playing less throughout the season. Sluga debuted in this match and Tissera was the lead playmaker.
The champions were more active since the start, but no goal situations were created despite the two corner kicks. Nedelev was the closest to scoring, but Sluga managed to kick the ball into a corner.
The Eagles dominated even more later. Tekpetey sent the ball out in the 13th minute. He was close to scoring minutes later, but the ball went near the woodwork.
Cicinho passed the ball to Tissera in the 32nd minute and the latter sent the ball between a Botev defender’s legs, but it went outside the gate.
Ludogorets took the lead in the 39th minute after Delev scored. He outplayed Genev and kicked the ball which ricocheted in Souprayen’s foot before entering Hankic’s gate. Tissera almost added a second goal seconds later.
Botev evened the score when Rabei passed the ball to Pa Konate who score in the last minute of the first half.
Ludogorets took the lead again in the 57th minute thanks to Eto’O’s own goal. He tried to intervene when Tekpetey passed the ball to Delev, but sent it to his own gate instead.
The home team tried to even the score again. Brahimi tried to score, but Sluga intervened. The same thing happened seconds later and Sluga showed his class again.
Sotiriou almost scored during the added time, but Hankic managed to save his direct free kick.
