Ludogorets registered the first home game loss this season. The champions lost 3:5 to Pirin (Blagoevgrad) a week before the match against CSKA. The former captain of Ludogorets – Svetoslav Dyakov, was not part of the competitor’s team.
The guest team took the lead in the 15th minute when Hubchev scored a header shot. Marin almost evened the score in the 29th minute after Cauly passed him the ball. Despodov tried to score later as well, but Hengelman saved. Stanoev passed the ball to Brahimi in the 39th minute, after which it went to Verdon who scored his own goal in the 39th minute.
Karachanakov passed the ball to Brahimi at the beginning of the second half, and the latter scored the third goal for Pirin. Marin missed a chance to return a goal next. Ikoko was injured in the 64th minute and Terziev replaced him. Brahimi scored the fourth goal for Pirin after he outplayed Plastun. The goal was confirmed by the VAR system. Verdon managed to score a goal later.
Dyakov fouled Tchibota in the 88th minute and Despodov scored from the foul point, making the score 2:4. Cauly added another goal seconds later after Verdon sent him the ball. Bengyuzov added the final goal despite the fact Kahlina tried to intervene.
