The Ludogorets youth team born in 2015 began their participation in The International Football Tournament "Northern Star" in impeccable fashion. The young boys, coached by Hristos Dokov, defeated their opponents from Levski (Sofia) with a score of 3:2.
The young "Eagles" from the Ludogorets family are competing in one of the youngest age groups in the tournament. Their opponents include Levski (Sofia), Bolyarcheta (Veliko Tarnovo), and Progresul (Bucharest).
Today's victory over the capital's Levski was secured thanks to two goals by Petko Stanchev and another accurate strike by Archom Taran. Missed opportunities for a more decisive win came from Pavel Ivanov, Petar Nedelchev, and Petko Stanchev, who narrowly missed completing a hat-trick.
"I’m extremely proud of the boys, of their strong spirit, willpower, and character, with which they played wholeheartedly until the final minute of the match despite their accumulated fatigue," said their proud coach Hristos Dokov.
Tomorrow, the Ludogorets boys will face the remaining teams in their group. The match against Bolyarcheta will be played at 11:00 AM, and the one against Progresul at 6:00 PM. On Tuesday, the semifinals and finals will take place.
The Ludogorets team born in 2015 is the third representative from the "Eagles" Academy at the "Northern Star" tournament. This year’s second edition gathers players born in 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2017. The tournament is held in Ruse in memory of Ventseslav Georgiev, a player from Dunav (Ruse) who tragically died during training.
