Ludogorets stadium Huvepharma Arena will be fully completed by yje next 1.5 year. It is expected that the demolition of the old sector A and the construction of the new facility will begin in the fall. This was revealed by the executive director of the champions Angel Petrichev. When the new sector is ready, the full capacity of Huvepharma Arena will be 12 000 seats.
"It is a pleasure to inform you that we are at a fairly advanced stage with a commitment in the concession contract for the stadium - the construction of the last sector. We are waiting for the permit for the new sector in a few days. We are also conducting an auction for a contractor, in which the largest Bulgarian construction companies participate. The goal is to start the demolition and construction of the new sector as quickly as possible. In the very near future, Ludogorets will have a modern sector that, in addition to offering comfort, will also be functional for the organizers of the matches and for the media. There will be easy access for people with disabilities, because there is no comfort for them in Bulgaria," said Petrichev at a press conference in Sofia. "It is important where Ludogorets will play while the repairs are underway. We will try to get UEFA to allow us, if we enter a real part of the European tournaments, to continue hosting at the Huevepharma Arena. As it is possible that we are in the Champions League, I leave this question open. To begin with, we will build a car park at the back of the Moti stand to accommodate everyone's needs. The media will move to Sector V. There will be discomfort, but there is no way, it will be for good. The dressing rooms will remain in the Moti tribune. The new sector will have an underground parking lot, and the media tribune will be accessible by elevator. There will be a large museum, a large fan shop, a business area, several sky boxes. We will meet the expectations of partners and sponsors. There will also be a large VIP area. Quite a good looking stadium, it's going to be lovely,” the executive added.
"We are currently tendering for a contractor. It will be selected shortly and only then will we commit to specific figures. We had planned a lot of things, but the COVID situation and other issues delayed all. However, we are within the term of the contract with Razgrad municipality," the chief also said. "There are no predictions in football and construction. According to experts, the construction will take 1.5 years. If we succeed faster, it will be wonderful. Everything must be polished. The other sectors are of high quality and it is not obvious that they are 7-8 years old," he said. "The capacity will increase. It will be over 12 000. The first thing will be a parking lot behind the Moti tribune, because without it we cannot play in Europe. We will start the demolition in the fall," Petrichev concluded.
