The assistant coach of Ludogorets Stanislav Genchev gave an interview on his 39th birthday.
- Happy birthday, despite the unusual situation!
- Thank you. It is more than unusual, as it never happened to me before. If there is something good about the situation, it is the fact I am with my family.
- What do you wish for on this day?
- I wish for my family and for me to be healthy. I also wish this epidemic goes away soon and I hope people go back to their usual lives. I believe it will happen.
- Where are you at the moment?
- I am in Veliko Tarnovo with my family. We have restricted outside contacts and we follow the rules strictly. I wish everyone does the same, so we could overcome the situation.
- How are these limitations affecting you?
- It is hard for everyone but you get used to it. We have no choice. I miss meeting friends but I miss football the most.
- There will be at least a month until the championship is resumed. How will this affect the team preparation?
- The pause will be equally bad for all teams. Irregular training will affect the players’ condition. Let’s hope that this break will last only a month.
- How will the championship continue?
- We have advantage and I hope we increase it.
- What is your opinion about the competition in efbet League?
- Levski, CSKA and Lokomotiv are evenly matched now. We have a good advantage despite our European matches, which is good for us.
- You are back at Ludogorets, and you were the head coach for three months. How do you feel about this period?
- I was happy to be back. I thank Mr. Petrichev and Mr. Karamandzhukov for the invitation. I want to thank the club owners for giving me a chance as well. I hope Mr. Domuschiev gets well soon. Those three months as a head coach will remain a dear memory to me. It is every coach’s dream and it happened to me.
- What did you learn as Pavel Vrba’s assistant?
- He has a very successful career and working alongside him is a privilege to me. I am greatly benefited as a coach to be part of his crew.
