Ludogorets won 2-0 in the play-off first leg against Viktoria Plzen at Vasil Levski stadium in Sofia. After a goalless first half Georgi Dermendzhiev's men took the lead in the 51st minute, when Roman Hubník fouled Jonathan Cafú in the penalty area and Cosmin Mo?i converted the spot kick.

Dutch winger Virgil Misidjan doubled the lead 13 minutes later after Marcelinho's pinpoint pass.

“2-0 is a slippery result. We must look for goals in the return leg”, said Dermendzhiev after the game.
