Dambrauskas: I want Ludogorets to dominate

The coach Valdas Dambrauskas spoke at a press conference prior to the Bulgarian Cup rematch against CSKA. The first match ended with an even 1:1 score.

Dambrauskas said that he does not expect an easy match.

“It is not possible to win a title or a trophy with ease. We had tough matches and everyone was below average. I hope we perform better. I see how much my players have to sacrifice. We wanted to defeat the competitor with our own game. We will try to dominate from the first minute of the match”.

“We have less problems compared to the previous two matches. I think that I will be able to use every player for today’s practice session and I will decide on the final team composition later”.

“We understand this problem. We put in our effort but there are not enough goals for me to say we dominate the field. We need to work on that. The problem is not new. Many new players arrived at the brink of the season, and other factors had a negative impact on the club. The team is rising but I do not like that we are inconsistent. We want to have a bigger advantage and we must win despite who our competitor might be. The matches against all clubs count equally when you want to win a championship”.

„This is not on my mind and I do not criticize the referees. They make mistakes like all of us. There are a lot of problems in Bulgarian football today. We need to respect each other. If a referee does not show up, we will not be able to start the game. Mistakes happen and technology can help avoid them. I respect all referees and I support them”.

“Yankov was sick recently but he joined the training. He is a valuable player and a real treasure for Bulgarian football. He can be a competition to young players across the globe. We have plans for him and expectations, too. He needs to learn and if we manage to pull this off, he can become a leader at Ludogorets and the national team as well”.
