Dambrauskas: We must correct our mistakes for the upcoming match

The head coach of Ludogorets – Valdas Dambrauskas – spoke at a press conference prior to the Ludogorets – Arda match.

“Hello (in Bulgarian). This week will be tough, just like the previous one. I said we have tough matches coming up and this is the truth. Still, it is not surprising. We are confident after our last win. Training happens according to plan and I am happy”, said Dambrauskas.

“It is hard to say why we make mistakes defense-wise. Our last win does not mean we don’t allow mistakes. Cicinho saved us from a different turn of events. We had no such defensive problems during our camp in Turkey or during the matches against Shakhtar and Dynamo. We need to correct all mistakes and to find the key to locking that gate for good. We have a lot of potential and we need to train for better defensive performance. I already said that Arda is not among the top five teams but they play good football. They are well-organized and they do not focus on having the ball in their possession all the time. We need to prepare well for this match”, the coach added.

“They say that the best Bulgarian and the best Lithuanian coaches will meet but that will not influence the match. Our players will make things happen. I can congratulate Nikolay Kirov for his success as Arda’s coach”, said the specialist.

“I like to communicate with the players and it is important for a coach to do so. I need to understand their personalities. Sometimes I need to raise my voice but at the right times only”, the coach responded to a question.

 “I worked with Kahlina for 10 months in Gorica. I know him well, he was the team captain. He is intelligent and has great potential to be a coach. He is eligible for the upcoming two matches. He helps Iliev and the gatekeeper’s level has been brought up. They get along well. We attracted Kahlina because we seek improvement. We need to be out of our comfort zone in order to improve. We have seen how great teams become average due to wrong decisions. We tried to look forward and invited Kahlina”, Dambrauskas added.
