Ludogorets defeated Spartak Varna 2:1 at the “Huvepharma Arena” in the final round of the regular season in The efbet League, taking another decisive step toward yet another title.
The “Eagles” opened the scoring as early as the 9th minute, when Jakub Piotrowski headed in a precise cross from Erick Marcus. Despite the pressure from the reigning champions, the Varna side didn’t give up and managed to equalize in the 76th minute — former Ludogorets player Dimitar Mitkov scored a beautiful goal from a direct free kick.
Ludogorets, however, secured the win late in the game. In the 88th minute, substitute Emerson Rodriguez delivered a precise pass into the penalty area, where Kwadwo Duah was in the right place and with a skillful finish brought the three points to his team.
With this victory, Ludogorets now has 76 points and a 17-point lead over Levski, who play on Monday. Thus, the team from Razgrad enters the playoffs as the undisputed leader, while Spartak will fight for survival in the bottom eight.
