Ludogorets played at a slower pace during the first half, despite that Pavel Vrba included many of the main players. Krastev scored in the 13th minute and Popadiyn added a second goal in the 29th minute. Kirilov scored in the 45th minute. Meanwhile, Cicinho left the pitch after confronting a Slavia player.

Vrba let three of the Academy talents on the pitch – Budinov, Yordanov, and Petrov. They showed good skills and Ludogorets picked up their pace. A few situations in front of Renan’s gate followed, and Bitton eventually scored in the 75th minute. This was the third game in a row in which Bitton scores a goal. Despite the applied pressure on the competitor, Ludogorets failed to score another goal.
