Ludogorets lost to a Russian team

The new coach Valdas Dambrauskas experienced his first loss. The team lost 1:2 to Akron Tolyatti. Youth and replacement players were included in the composition, including the gatekeeper Hristov, Iliev, Yankov, and Mitkov.

Most players showed that they need more experience and allowed mistakes. Ludogorets created a goal situation in the 15th minute but Cicinho missed the chance to score. Yankov and Ikoko also missed good opportunities to score minutes later.

Akron took the lead in the 24th minute after Kvekveskiri scored. Ludogorets decided to make the score even but Cicinho’s attempt did not result in a goal.

Hristov saved Chudin’s attempt to score in the second half. Ikoko and Gogrichiani were involved in a feud for which the Ludogorets player received a yellow card. Hristov saved another couple of goal situations. Gogrichiani hit the woodwork once and Fereira missed the gate from a good position.

Ludogorets evened the score when Yankov scored in the 74th minute. Gazdanov added the winning goal a couple of minutes later from a 25-meter distance. Oliveira and Tekpetey joined their teammates but they did not change a thing and the team eventually lost the match.
