A true recognition for Ludogorets: the club’s top medic was invited to Euro 2020

UEFA’s president – Aleksander Ceferin personally invited Ludogorets’ top medic Dr. Valentin Velikov to Euro 2020’s final scheduled for July 11th at Wembley Stadium in London.

UEFA’s president – Aleksander Ceferin personally invited Ludogorets’ top medic Dr. Valentin Velikov to Euro 2020’s final scheduled for July 11th at Wembley Stadium in London. The reason was the reaction that followed Christian Eriksen’s collapse during the Denmark—Finland match. The medical team Dr. Velikov was part of handled immediately the midfielder’s cardiac arrest. They brought Eriksen back to life with no complications.

“It is an honor for me to invite you to the last match of Euro 2020.”, President Ceferin wrote in his letter to Dr. Velikov.

Dr. Valentin Velikov was part of UEFA’s medical team and in charge of the doping control during Euro 2020. The medic was present during five matches – Denmark—Finland, Denmark—Belgium, Russia—Denmark, Croatia—Spain, and Belgium—Italy.
