Ludogorets crushed Spartak Varna 5–1 in our seaside capital. With this victory, the champions moved within six points of the leaders Levski, who, however, have a game in hand.
The goals for Ludogorets in Varna were scored by Kwadwo Duah, Erick Marcus, Erick Bile (from a penalty), and Ivaylo Chochev, who netted twice. The consolation goal for the hosts came from Martin Georgiev, who scored with a powerful shot from nearly 30 meters.
Both teams finished the match with 10 men. Spartak’s goalkeeper Pedro Victor received a red card at the end of the first half for handling the ball outside the penalty area. Edwin Kurtulus was shown a second yellow card midway through the second half for a foul against a Spartak player who was breaking forward.
