The youth product of Ludogorets and current captain of Dobrudzha, Ventsislav Kerchev, threw himself at the Ghanaian’s feet and prevented a certain goal with an excellent sliding tackle. In the 21st minute, Bernard Tekpetey set up Bile with a header, but the striker’s shot missed the target.
Dobrudzha responded with a chance for defender Jonathan Hurtado, who connected with a corner via a header, but from 3–4 meters he was not accurate enough.
Ludogorets took the lead in the third minute of stoppage time in the first half. Bernard Tekpetey advanced down the left wing and delivered a long pass to the right flank, finding Caio Vidal. The Brazilian controlled the ball and scored beautifully between the legs of Mateus Leoni, leaving goalkeeper Galin Grigorov with no chance – 1:0 for the “Eagles”. This was the debut goal of one of Ludogorets’ top players of the season.
In the second half, the visitors from Razgrad tried to conserve energy for the remaining matches of the year and slowed the pace significantly. In the 70th minute, substitute Mateus Machado had a chance to seal the match with a header, but it went just over the bar.
Just 120 seconds later, the contest was effectively over. Erick Marcus brilliantly released Ivaylo Chochev behind the defense, who beat Galin Grigorov and passed the ball back to Caio Vidal, who calmly scored his second goal of the match – 2:0.
Until the end of the game, Caio Vidal had opportunities to complete a hat-trick but missed two chances. In the final moments, substitute Mateus Machado hit the post, narrowly missing his first goal for the “Eagles”.
