Fourteen-time Bulgarian champions Ludogorets kicked off the 2025/26 domestic season in style with a dominant 5:0 victory over Septemvri Sofia. In Rui Mota's debut in the efbet Liga, the "Eagles" could have scored even more, with several young players featuring in the match, including Simeon Shishkov, Filip Gigov, and Metodiy Stefanov.

In the 9th minute, Ivaylo Chochev opened the scoring from the penalty spot after a foul on Deroy Duarte. Early in the second half, Erick Bile scored in a second consecutive match—this time with a header assisted by Emerson Rodriguez.

New signing Stanislav Ivanov netted his debut goal shortly afterward, with the assist coming from fellow newcomer Joel Andersson. Deroy Duarte made it 4:0 with a well-placed left-footed strike, capping off an impressive performance. The final score was sealed by Olivier Verdon, who converted a penalty awarded for a foul on Filip Gigov.
