Ludogorets realized another outgoing transfer. The 12-time champions have offloaded defender Franco Russo to Belgian elite Leuven. The two clubs have successfully completed negotiations over the deal, with Russo undergoing medicals and fitness tests in the meantime. The team from the Belgian city will pay a certain sum for the defender's rent until the summer of 2024, and there is a clause in the contract for his redemption.
Franco Russo was brought to Ludogorets from Spanish Mallorca in January 2023. In one year, the defender played 38 games for the Eagles in all competitions, scoring 3 goals.
This is the third outgoing transfer since the beginning of the year for Ludogorets. Before Russo, the champions transferred the midfielder Mounir Chouiar to the French Amiens, and Dominik Yankov was sold to the Canadian team from MLS Montreal.
