Ludogorets lost 2:3 to Bayer (Leverkusen) in the first game of the UEFA Europa League group phase. The champions were able to perform great and they scored two goals within the first 31 minutes. Keseru scored from the foul point in the 8th minute and Marcelinho added the second goal after a great attack a perfect coordination between Keseru and Wanderson.
Havertz scored the first goal for Bayer in the 37th minute, and Telin added the second in the 63rd minute. Havertz was also the one who shaped the final score in the 69th minute. Ludogorets tried everything to make the scored even and were really close in the 75th minute. Keseru tried to score from a small angle but the keeper kicked the ball into the corner, after which Nedyalkov sent the ball into the woodwork with his head.
