Historic first victory for the Ludogorets Women's team in the Champions League

The women’s team of Ludogorets recorded a historic first victory in their debut in the UEFA Women's Champions League. The "Eaglets" earned a decisive 3:0 win over KI Klaksvik (Faroe Islands) in a match from the first qualifying round, played in Kosovo.

Ludogorets took the lead in the 22nd minute through Monika Baliova. Shortly before halftime, Mariela Petrova doubled the lead from a penalty, and in the middle of the second half, Bianka Demirova made it a final 3:0.

“I congratulate the team for the effort put in over the past weeks, as well as for the successful performance in the match,” said head coach Christos Dokov.

With the convincing victory, the "Eaglets" secured a spot in the next match of the tournament’s first qualifying round. On July 25, Ludogorets will face hosts Mitrovica at the "Fadil Vokrri" stadium in Pristina, in a match that will determine the participant in the second qualifying round of the tournament.

If successful again, the Bulgarian champions will meet Norwegian champions Brann in the second qualifying round of the Champions League.
