Ludogorets failed to win the rematch against Apoel, drawing 2:2
Ludogorets were eliminated from the Conference League after a 2:2 draw with Apoel Tel Aviv in Razgrad. The first match, played in Hungary, ended 2:0 in favor of the Israeli giants. The visitors opened the scoring through Boateng in the 16th minute, and shortly thereafter Kwadwo Duah missed a penalty awarded for a handball.
Cheered on by their fans, Ludogorets managed a full comeback after goals early in the second half by Tekpetey and Salido.
And just when everyone expected a third goal for the "Eagles" and the equalizing of the aggregate score, again Boateng scored for Apoel Tel Aviv, which turned out to be the last goal of the duel, fixing the final score at 2:2.
Thus, for the third time in their history, Ludogorets are eliminated in the preliminary rounds of European club tournaments after 2012 and 2015, when the "Eagles" were successively knocked out by Dinamo (Zagreb) and Milsami.
