The legendary coach Ivaylo Petev is returning to Ludogorets. He took over the team after Ante Simundza was released. Petev has already held his first training session with the Eagles and will lead the team in the home match against Cherno more on Sunday.

Ivaylo Petev is the specialist who laid the foundations of the most successful Bulgarian club in the last 12 years. He took over Ludogorets in 2010 when the team was in B group and achieved the unthinkable, getting them immediately into A group and winning a golden treble - title, cup and super cup in their first season in the elite group in 2012. In 2013 Petev won the title with the Eagles for the second time in a row.

In his rich coaching career, Petev has worked as head coach of AEL Cyprus, the national team of Bulgaria, Dinamo (Zagreb), Omonia, Al Qadisiyah, Jagiellonia and the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with which he achieved excellent results in the League of Nations.
