Three weeks into the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to ask the Ludogorets coach, Pavel Vrba, a few questions about the current situation.
- What is your opinion on the current situation, Mr. Vrba?
- It is a complicated situation and everyone is forced to accept it, as it is equally hard for everyone in the world. We can only hope that it will pass.
- What are your plans for the moment when the championship is resumed?
- Every player has a different training plan. Nobody knows when the championship will be resumed. We hope we will know about it in advance in order to go back to training.
- What is the longest period of individual training possible?
- Like I said, the problem is that we don’t know how long we need to wait. It is equally hard for both players and coaches. The players know what to do and we will follow their training regimes closely. We hope that once we go back to normal, UEFA will give recommendations about the championships and announce the European tournaments’ dates.
- What is your opinion on Ludogorets’ performance after your arrival?
- I have said it before: I am pleasantly surprised by the high class of all players. The conditions are the best they could be. The audience loved all domestic matches and we performed great in terms of overall results. I want Ludogorets to keep playing attractive football. The high class we have needs to be shown in every game.
- What is the COVID-19 situation in your country?
- It is quite similar to the situation we see here. The government aims to save people’s lives. There are numerous limitations and it is not a pleasant situation. The pandemic took its tall. In Belgium, for example, the championship was cancelled. The Czech championship is paused indefinitely as well. We can only hope that we will return to our normal lives soon.
