PFC Ludogorets and Olivier Verdon have parted ways by mutual consent. The Benin international was one of the most experienced and important players in the squad of the 14-time champions in recent years. During his time with Ludogorets, Verdon won five league titles, two Bulgarian Cups and five Bulgarian Super Cups, leaving his mark both on Bulgarian football and in European club competitions.
Over his six years at Ludogorets, the defender made 243 appearances in all competitions, scoring 17 goals and providing 2 assists. This makes him the second-most capped centre-back in the club’s history, behind only club legend Cosmin Moti.
“I would like to thank Ludogorets and the club’s management for everything they have given me during these six years together. During this time, I grew not only as a footballer, but also as a person. I am extremely grateful for everything we experienced together. I would also like to thank the fans. It wasn’t always easy, but together we created many wonderful memories that will remain in my heart forever.
Thank you to my teammates, to all the coaches who were part of the club, to the medical staff and to everyone who works hard for Ludogorets every day. All of you will always have a special place in my heart,” Olivier Verdon said in his farewell message.
PFC Ludogorets thanks Olivier Verdon and wishes him good health and success in his future career!
Verdon will always be part of the Ludogorets family!
