Ludogorets achieved their first victory in the elite for 2025, defeating Beroe 2-1 in Razgrad. The hero for the hosts was the Brazilian Caio Vidal, who played as a central striker and scored both goals for the win, before Salido pulled one back for the visitors from Stara Zagora. The match was played under continuous snowfall, which intensified in the second half, but the pitch was perfect, and the players had no problems.
Ludogorets coach Igor Jovicevic deployed Caio Vidal as a central striker because Kwadwo Duah is injured, and new signing Erick Bile isn't in good enough form. In previous matches, Jakub Piotrowski had been playing at the top of the attack, but now he was in his usual position in the midfield. The other new signing, Emerson Rodrigues, was not included. It was Vidal who made the first accurate shot of the match, but his compatriot Arthur Mota had no problems and saved it.
In the 16th minute, Ivaylo Chochev took a free kick, the ball ricocheted off the wall, but Mota handled it. Four minutes later, Erick Marcus broke through the center and, finding himself in a good position, missed the target.
In the 35th minute, Ludogorets was awarded a penalty. The reason was that the young striker Miroslav Georgiev kicked Aguibou Camara, who was about to take a shot at the goal. Olivier Verdon stood behind the ball, but his shot was saved by Arthur Mota. The first shot of the match for the visitors came in the first minute of added time, when Juanka Pineda shot from medium range, but Hendrik Bonmann caught it.
Ludogorets started the second half with a strong push. Aguibou Camara made a through pass behind the Beroe defense. Ivaylo Chochev missed the ball, and then Viktor Vulkov failed to react, allowing the ball to land at the feet of Caio Vidal. The Brazilian found himself one-on-one with Arthur Mota and didn't miss the opportunity to score – 1:0.
In the 70th minute, the hosts scored a second goal. Substitute Georgi Rusev won the ball in midfield and passed it to Piotrowski, who elegantly set up Caio Vidal, and the Brazilian expertly scored his second goal. The score could have been 3-0 shortly after when Jakub Piotrowski crossed from the right, and the ball hit the crossbar.
In the 82nd minute, new signing Erick Bile made his debut for Ludogorets. It was the Ivorian who provided a good pass to Caio Vidal, but the Brazilian was blocked by Martin Georgiev. In the counterattack, Beroe pulled one back – the substitute Alberto Salido scored, receiving a nice pass from Uerik Caetano and squeezing the ball between Hendrik Bonmann's legs.
At the very end of the match, Beroe was left with 10 men. Franco Ramos Mingo received his second yellow card for hitting Ives Bile on the head with his hand. With this victory, Ludogorets regained their 10-point lead at the top over second-placed Levski. In the next round, the "Eagles" will visit Cherno More in Varna.
