Ludogorets coach Ivaylo Petev gave a press conference before the first match of the Conference League groups against Spartak Trnava.
“I am never thinking of what is going to happen. That's how it happened, that's how the draw was, and we have to come out tomorrow, come out as focused as possible and play a good game. We always feel more comfortable in front of our fans and I hope with their help we will win," the specialist began.
"This opponent, Spartak Trnava, is worth to respect because they have eliminated Lech Poznan, Dnipro-1, quite an experienced team, with experienced players. We are aware that it will not be easy for us, but we must have maximum concentration and do everything possible to win," continued the coach.
"I note one thing - in the matches of Ludogorets in the championship, the biggest opponent of Ludogorets is Ludogorets itself. When we don't approach properly, we are vulnerable to losing points. Tomorrow is the most important match, then we will think about the championship again. I think we will be mobilized tomorrow," he reported.
"In any case, Roman Prohazka can help Spartak Trnava, but nowadays it is not very difficult to get to know the opponent from the systems they have. He played in our stadium, he lost in our stadium, I hope he will lose now again," the coach believes.
He also talked about the injured players in his team. "The closest to return is Kwadwo Duah, Anton Nedyalkov will train at the end of the month with the team, this is something positive. Marcel Heister will not be available for tomorrow. Sonko Sundberg had an inflammation in the back of his leg and for that reason he did not play with Botev Plovdiv, Ivan Yordanov also had a problem and together with the medical staff we decided that they should not be in the group," he revealed.
"Bernard Tekpetey will be captain until Anton Nedyalkov returns, he is the titular captain, he was captain before Kiril Despodov. We have analyzed Spartak Trnava. They relies on any static situation from which they can score. I can say their strong weapon is the counterattack, because they have very fast footballers in front positions", concluded Ivaylo Petev.
