Ludogorets signs World Cup 2022 bronze medalist Ivo Grbic Ludogorets has signed Croatian national team goalkeeper Ivo Grbic from English club Sheffield United. The goalkeeper has successfully passed his medical examinations and is already in Razgrad, while both clubs meanwhile finalized negotiations for the transfer.
Grbic has an impressive resume, having played for Atletico Madrid and French club Lille in his career. With the Croatian national team, he is a bronze medalist from the World Cup in Qatar in 2022, where he was part of the squad as a substitute for starting goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic.
The 30-year-old last played on loan from Sheffield United for Turkish side Fatih Karagumruk. In the 2025/26 season, Grbic made 33 appearances for the Super Lig team.
"This is another step forward in my career. I hope to win the trophies that Ludogorets will compete for,” commented Grbic upon his arrival in Razgrad.
Ivo Grbic is the third Croatian goalkeeper to defend Ludogorets’ colors after Kristijan Kahlina and Simon Sluga.
The new signing will hold his first training session with Ludogorets tomorrow and will be available to the coaching staff for the team's upcoming matches in the First League.
Grbic is the fourth new player signed by Ludogorets this season. Before him, the 14-time champions added Mikhail Polendakov, who also joined on loan from Sheffield United, Nathan Fernandes, and Hosam Abdelmagid.
